The overall aim of this forum is to encourage investment into Eastern and Southern Africa by addressing issues that are critical for business. The summit will promote dialogue between African and International investors, policy-makers and analysts and identify investment opportunities, as well as action-oriented strategies to mitigate risk. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the various investment opportunities as well as the regulatory and legal framework, allowing business leaders to make informed investment decisions.

Importance of the subject matter

The business landscape is undergoing continuous change, and the COMESA region, as a vibrant emerging investment destination, is the least understood market where information is generally scarce or outdated. The COMESA Investment Forum aims at informing about opportunities on offer by discussing issues pertinent to the region and promoting collaboration between COMESA’s member states, Africa and the world at large. By assessing the true cost of risk, as opposed to the perception, and ways to mitigate this risk, the COMESA Investment Forum responds to the needs of investors and policy-makers alike.
